Are Diamondback AR-15's any good?
« on: June 02, 2016, 10:14:05 pm »
I have the chance to pick one up locally for what i feel to be a great price. 429$ NIB.

Are these ar's any good? Never handled one, never shot one but they seem to be popping up more and more.

If they are decent, i am going to pick one up and either use as is or use as a host gun for a build.

The main reason i was considering the 300 was only because i have plenty of 556 rifles, though i do agree that its a somewhat pointless round.

Ive handled their handguns and i wasnt impressed. If you read what ammo is actually safe in the DB9, it doesnt give you much faith in the gun..

I had a db9 that you could not shoot a whole mag with it jamming. Then the the front of the slide decided to take a trip out in the desert. They did fix it under warranty( but not without trying to say it was my fault), but still could not shoot a complete mag. Needless to say I got rid of it. I can't say I have heard anything bad about there at platform.

Ive heard a LOT of negative reports about the DB9 & DB380.

I picked up the 5.56 AR and im really impressed with it. Took it out right after i bought it and rand 40 rounds of tulammo just to see if it would run it. 100% reliable. I didnt clean it which i usually do but i looked inside and there was no real dirt/metal shavings etc.

Well, essentially they are a partnership. The deal was put together back in January of 2013. Taurus owns the advertising and distribution rights for Diamondback likely so they have a foot in the marketplace for rifle production here in the US.
