I'm not sure if I'm going or not yet, but, according to the Wilderness products website, Native New Yorker is posted no guns. http://www.thewilderness.com/storepinnacle/index.php?p=page&page_id=CCW_Unfriendly_AZ_Dining_Guide
Is this true?

Yes. They are posted.
Unfortunately, it's the only decent place nearby. Going someplace else would be 30 to 45+ minutes out.
We could do lunch in Ahwatukee or close to there I suppose. Anyone have any ideas?

On another front, I've been getting questions concerning this area being closed as per the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. Here's the skinny...
We have been hassled by the PCSO at this location before. The first time it ever happened they told us the area was closed and ran us out. Follow-up research showed it was in fact not closed, and they had lied in order to get us gone.
The second time it happened they didn't run us off (and in fact said they
couldn't ask us to leave), but instead gave a lengthy lecture to everyone out there about complaints from someone on the other side of the mountain. Our group had been packing up anyway, and so left. But a few other groups kept shooting after the lecture.
This is BLM land, I am 1000% sure (confirmed with GPS coords via live GIS data). According to the BLM, this area IS NOT closed. We are absolutely allowed to shoot out there, I assure everyone.
However... we may get yet another visit from the PCSO. Whether they tell us to leave or give the lecture, I couldn't guess. My expectation is that we get the lecture, as that was the most recent course of action by the PCSO. And besides, the very last time we were out there there was no hassle at all.
I'm not expecting any real problem.

IN THAT VEIN... I will be bringing some black garbage bags so we can spend a quick 10 minutes cleaning up after we shoot. This has long been a standard operating procedure with myself, Harm and Jesse. I hope everyone will join us in making sure our shooting location is better than we left it, thereby ensuring that this area does continue to remain open.
