In the gun business it is too easy to get overheated in debates and that makes any of us vulnerable to some questionable logic. For example, if we say the average Bushmaster firearm costs, say $600, a back log of two million units would be worth one billion 200 hundred million dollars. Freedom Group, which owns Bushmaster, sold about 1.5 million long guns last year. They are the largest privately head firearms company in the world. It is hard for me to believe they would turn their backs on over a billion dollars worth of business in order to slow production and raise prices. Cerebus Capital Management owns Freedom Group. They also own Remington which they bought about 15 years go when Remington was in debt and losing money. Take a look at annual reports of gun manufacturers to see that production has been going up, not down.
