Sweet ill collect em. Mine are polished steel though rws competition (22lr)

Those .22 cases are still brass, just nickel plated (for corrosion and lubricity).

Rimfire brass has to be something soft like brass in order to allow enough crush at the rim for reliable ignition of the priming compound.

I was thinking about that afte I posted this makes a lot more sense and I didn't think high quality rounds like this were packaged in steel...

As you can see I got my lee classic cast turret press today in the mail! Also have my 223 reloading dies and my decapping die.
I like this workbench! Got it at HF for 30bucks!! What a deal, and this one is super sturdy!!! No wobble no give nothing! It came with the pressed wood surface included.
Already go the hardware from ace today, can't wait to go home and decap some ammo.

On the hunt for bullets primers and powder now :D

And Steve... :P

So I had some questions on military crimps.
First do I understand the concept?
I have some military ammo an was wondering how this all works. I watched some videos online and the guys at desert valley firearms have a 50 not sure if it was a big or just a 50cal but it had a military crimp on it I believe it was a spiral on the back of the brass going from primer to the outside. One rotation. Now I would think putting point pressure like from a steel ball point kinda machine on the brass would push th brass around and the spiral shape , or a ring whatever it is for different ammo, will keep the primer in place.
Now by holding the back of the brass steady and all around like a sizing die and pushing something of the standard primer pocket size into it it would expand it back out to the shape it once had correct?

Second what's the best tool to match my setup?

Three can I use the lee depriming die to get that primer out or could that break the pin?

You need to check Brunos.  http://www.brunoshooters.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=BSS&Category_Code=WOLFSMMAG  They just got a decent shipment in recently.   They projectiles, powder and primers.

Hey Wolf, I just got back into town tonight. Give me a shout this week (I have apts all day tomorrow though) and we'll set something up
I got pulled over the other day.... and I told DPS as he walked up....

"Hey just so you know I got .45 on me, a .40 in the center console and my SBR in my concealed carry backpack right there.."

he said, "damn what are you afraid of?"

I said, "Nothing"...

Read on an earlier thread that a lot of money can be saved buying supplies from local people especially at matches .. Anyone know any such dealer?
Or can recommend one?
Any experiences?

PICS!!!

Bench

Bench top

Tumbler

Media : crushed walnut Zilla desert blend petco $7.99

Fine enough to clean primer pockets too.

Removed almost all annealing marks

My first mistake to learn from. Don't tumble shells that fit into each other together ... Big anal pain

Found a cool way to separate media and shells. Just flipped the top upside down and poured the contents in slowly while its running works quite well!

Only one question at this time, how do I efficiently remove the blast media dust?

cut up a used dryer sheet or two and toss em in there while you tumble. they will pull most of the super fine dust out.  also, get something to cover those slots in the lid while you are tumbling to reduce dust in the room (airborne lead particles aren't a very good health supplement). Even a sheet of plastic wrap under the lid would help

looks good. I'd remove the valve from the end of the primer tube and put the tube in a pickle jar on that shelf. Then you'll only have to dump old primers every thousand rounds or so

Good call, i think ill leave the tube on until after I move though because this way when my dog does run it over I am not picking up primers on the shelve only the tube off the ground.

or you can pop a tube sized hole in the jar lid, jam the hose through it and put the valve back on on the inside of the lid. then just open the valve. if the dog knocks it over, it will just dangle on the end of the tube
