I know, late to the game but for target shooting I think the Buck Mark is the way to go. Doesn't require a bunch of aftermarket parts to get a good trigger, just a sear spring flip and your  under 3#. The kids and I have shot 1000's without any jams. Well built and functioning guns that don't seem to be as finicky with ammo.

    +1 for buckmarks. I grew up shooting them and never had any malfunctions. I also like the Ruger mark series after you break them in.
    Bullets are the only things that do their job only after they're fired.

    I currently own a RARE Ruger 22/45 competition target ''great eight'' 8'' slab side that I regularly take out to 150 yards. I fuggin love this pistol. It took 500 rounds of high velocity stuff to completely break her in. Now she'll eat anything.
