AR Question
« on: May 04, 2012, 11:49:31 AM »
Please excuse my ignorance, but I am a relatively new owner of a Windham Weaponry AR-15, and I am a but confused about one point.  What is the difference between AR-15 Mill Spec and Commercial stock tubes, and how do you tell which on you have????   I am thinking of changing my OEM Stock, with a Magpul Industries CTR AR-15 Carbine Stock, but don't know which to order, the Mill Spec and Commercial????

I think yours is probably going to be Commercial.  The only Magpul stock Windham sells on their site is that size.

Of course use William's link to determine for sure, but my guess is that it'll be Commercial.

I appreciate the info and the link!  Your right Thernlund, my Windham Weaponry WW-15 is a commercial tube and William I verified this with your information!  Thank you both!!!

It's not too much trouble or cost to upgrade that RE to a mil spec.  The whole RE thing is tricky.  "mil spec" doesn't really mean that it's made from 7000 series alloy or that it's mil spec annodized.  A lot of jokers produce an RE that's just mil spec dimensions and call it "mil spec".
