This is a perfect example of why they market both chocolate and vanilla ice cream.. I'm sure the kimber is fine but I'd prefer to have an old Star BP.. ( might have the wrong B. Think the BM was the 45 acp) at any rate you can buy a half dozen of these older 9 single stack stack 1911 CDR copies for the price of a new Kimber.. Or perhaps a Smith 39.. I've always felt the 39 was an underrated pistol. There ya go.. saving you money, and some marketing thoughts (choc/vanil deal).. Final thoughts on this.. for the money you save buying a cool old Star you could buy me one as well..
Actually, the Star BM was the basically Commander sized, single stack 9mm in steel. The .45 was an aluminum alloy framed, Commander sized single stack called the PD. And no, you can't have mine. Astra also made a nice little single stack 9mm called the A 70 ( it was also marketed early on by Springfield Armory as the "Firecat". ) Glad to hear from somebody who actually has one of the Kimber Solos. I can see where the extended mag would be helpful.
