Things to do in Tucson?
« on: March 22, 2015, 12:24:29 am »
I will be down in the Tucson area off and on for the next 3 weeks, and was wondering what I should see and do down there.  I'm focusing on gun related or dog friendly activities.

I'm already aware of the Pima Air Museum, Sabino Canyon, Seven Falls, Catalina State Park, Old Tucson and Saguaro National Park.

Take your dog up to Mt Lemon.  He and you will love the hiking trails.  Are you going to be working down here?

Katchner Caverns and Tombstone aren't far from Tucson.  The Sonora Desert Musuem is worth a trip.

Tombsone is really fun! I highly recommend staying at the Apache Spirit Ranch - we hung out there on a Sat night - wish we would have known to stay there.  :facepalm Went back horseback riding the next day  :thumbup

Its not dog friendly, but the Titan Missile Museum located south of Tucson near Green Valley in one of the old silos is very interesting if you're in to that sort of thing.

I still think we should organize an informal AZGO field trip to go there sometime.

Last time I checked, Mammoth Cave was in western Kentucky.  Now accessible from the national Corvette museum in Bowling Green by way of the sinkhole that opened up there.  ( kidding  ;-) )

Right after we went there a couple years ago, they had some incident I believe and they said they were not allowing to carry firearms anymore in town.

The International Wildlife Museum is worth seeing.
I do not think there is an animal in the world that can be hunted that is not in there.

Anyone have a favorite range or gun store?  Looking for previously owned lever and bolt actions.

Slash k is a good store for reloading supplies. Murphy's and second amendment have some good sales from time to time. I spend a lot of time at three points and SERP off next to the fair grounds.
The sportsmans warehouse  off Costco drive is pretty stocked up... .
