My very first handgun was a Hi Standard 9-shot .22LR D/A 'Western' with 4" barrel.  Great beginner revolver I purchased here in Phx back in the mid 1960's at Gary's Hardware located in the Alta Vista shopping center (with A.J. Bayless & Ryan Evans Drug Store) on the N/W corner of 27th Avenue & Northern.  Another, "Wish I still had it !".  :(

My very first handgun was a Springfield XD .45 I bought about 5 years ago. Growing up I only had rifles and shotguns. Dad wasn't too fond of handguns. I was nervous picking out a handgun with only having a little experience shooting them. I researched for about six months before making the choice. Glad I did.

My first handgun was a german made 22lr revolver. I can't remember the brand name of it, but it was a piece of crap and broke after a couple hundred rounds, so I traded it in for a S&W Model 19.

    Probably. The name sounds familiar.

My first was a Bersa 644 .22LR semi-auto.  I bought it shortly after turning 21, at a gun shop at Falcon Field.  Brand new in the box, for about $85.  Paid for it with my first paycheck from Falcon's Roost.

The thing was as about as accurate as spitting into the wind, and the slide bit the hell out of the web of my hand, but hell, it was a late birthday present to myself.

Kel-Tec P-32 in OD green. Bought it day after passing my CCW tests. It's all I oculd afford being a full time student at the time. Sold it a few years back.

Norinco made tokarev in 9x19. Then an Italian made .22lr six gun, then a G-19, then a ppk, then then then....I have an addiction

Ruger Security Six.  Got it because I was doing some amateur Old West shootout stuff at the summer camp I was running.  It was a lot cheaper than any "cowboy" gun I could find, and looked close enough to pass.

Ruger P94...  Super heavy, Insanely long trigger pull, yadda...  We parted ways after about 8 years when I fell in love with Glocks and my CZ82.

I have no remorse for the sale...

A Ruger P89 was my first handgun, I bought it for myself when I was in my 30's.  Sold it and bought a BHP in 40S&W.  Should have kept it or bought another 9mm.

Mine was  Blackhawk in 41 mag.  Bought it at a Skaggs drugstore in Colorado in 1980.  They don't make drug stores like that anymore, they sold powder and shot also.
