Nicely done.   :thumbup   Those little Winchesters seem to gain in value all the time.

Very eye-easy restoration of a great gun that I learned to shoot with as a kiddo. My Son-in-Law now has it.

    Bravo.

I  bought this Ruger Standard pistol at a gun show for $80, it was missing some parts and in need of a refinish.

Here are the before and after shots

Nice job - again - on what appears to be one of the old "Standard" models.   :thumbup

That is nice. I have such a soft spot for the MKII. I have target model with bull barrel. Same spots that the blue wore off.

    Fantastic work.
I never get tired of seeing the pictures.  I am amazed at the quality of the work and the preservation of the so many blue collar guns that would have just been lost in the dust heap.

Wow, excellent work! I've got my late grandfather's service S&W Model 19 that I would LOVE to have restored. My uncle did a botch home reblue on it years back.

    Here is another one.

This one started as just a stock that someone gave me. Someone had cut off the barrel band portion of the forend and painted it black, then put it on a belt sander...then gave up...the stock is an original walnut one...so I decided to try and make lemonade out of this lemon. I added a Kingston Armory steel receiver and new take-off barrel, both were polished to a 5000 grit and hot blued. I modified the stock by adding finger grooves, adding flutes to the comb, redefining the grip area, adding a grip cap and sling swivels mimicking those of the Finger Groove Sporter model. I then refinished the aluminum butt plate and aluminum trigger housing in graphite black Cerakote.

Here are the before and after pictures

and the blog posts showing the process

Probably asked in this thread before, but, will you do work for others? Or do you primarily only like to do the work on firearms you own?

I am just a hobbyist, I would have to get an FFL to be in the business, dealing with the paperwork and customers would ruin a perfectly good hobby.

Agreed.  You are going to drive some gun collector in the future absolutely crazy trying to pin down where the " Super Deluxe Edition " was in the manufacturing history of the factory and which retailer it was built for.   :rotfl

Beautiful little rifle.  The pics here are nice but I definitely appreciate the links to the blog posts.   :thumbup

Here is an H&R model 926 that I refinished the cylinder and base pin on.

A couple of beauties for sure.  I like the subdued finish on the Remington stock better than the original finish.  Looks great with the bluing and is probably easier to keep in the bargain.   :thumbup

The old Winchester looks like it was rode hard and put up wet, as the old saying goes.  Looking pretty good now though.  Nice job on repairing the big goober on the stock by the butt plate.  Is that a new recoil pad or were you able to refresh and refit the old one?  :hmm

    Thanks! I appreciate that

Here is another one I did: a Remington 511 Scoremaster, the owner brought me the parts about 3/4s polished, so I finished the polishing, blued them and painted the ready-fire and safe indicators as well as did some nitre bluing on some small parts

    This is the result
