Tokarev 7.62x25/9mm comparison

Anyone here own a 9mm Tokarev?

I have a 7.62x25 Tok and various parts for the conversion to 9mm, but I think the 9mm barrel is off.  Could we compare the barrels and slides? Ill be more than happy to pay a little bit of cash for your trouble. Thanks.

Where did you get the barrel and how much was it? I was interested in doing a conversion to 9mm a couple of years ago but didn't find a barrel.

If it was a Chinese Tok it's junk.  The Tokarev round is way to hefty for that junky pistol. I had one and the solid whap from the 7.62 x 25 pistol cartridge beat the crap out of the soft Chinese pistol.  Now, a real Chech pistol is build to work with that round.  It's almost a rifle round in a pistol. Kind of like a .44 Ruger.

Not quite, the 762 tok has high pressures and move fast but it really lacks energy transfer. Watch the tok struggle to knock over plates while the 9mm does a decent job.

I lack much personal experience except firing a CZ-52 with Czech military surplus ammo - it sounded like a cannon on that indoor range. I'd like to see the CZ Scorpion EVO chambered in the hot Tok.

Honestly it's all loaded pretty equal, there was an article back in the day that said the czechs went with a roller delay to handle the hot round they were producing. Nothing but fluff. There are a lot of threads with a lot of colorful words arguing the point back and forth. But don't get caught with it, it's a "cop killing" round that can be loaded into a pistol "clip" and concealed!!!!! 

Thankfully PPU produces it year 'round now. Not a nickel a shot anymore but I still love it. Surplus trickles in but the primers are usually rock solid and just as expensive as the PPU, and PPU is reloadable and non corrosive.

I owned a Chinese (mm Tok. It always worked perfectly for me and was quite accurate. And the Chez 7.62X25 is way to hot to be fired in any brand of the Tok.
