Don't know if this made its way over here yet.  Eventually, somebody was going to figure out how to break in to the pistol's firing system.

Other than the magnets, none of these tricks are practical ways to break in. It's cool how he extended the range of the receiver which means you could theoretically put transmitters all over your house/business and the gun would still fire without the watch.

Haha...I knew it would have it's Achilles heel but I didn't think it would be so low tech. I guess it's just another level of retention it this point.
Bullets are the only things that do their job only after they're fired.

I don't know what I find more ridiculous. The fact that it was defeated with a few bucks or the fact that this company didn't immediately hire this guy. They choose to ignore him when they could have hired him, have him sign a confidentiality and then implement changes ... or not .. based on his findings.

Safety is never the goal. Just like the NFA, it's to price firearms so ridiculously high that only the elite can own them. This tech isn't going anywhere for the foreseeable future. Even a liberal isn't stupid enough to arm their private security detail with that stuff.

It is possible to make one work to an acceptable standard, it just isn't inexpensive or easy.

Hell, the old Magna Trigger conversion apparently worked better than this thing.   :smh

    Not at all surprised.

I just don't think an electronic trigger system is going to be the most reliable. It would not bode so well to take that gun out of the holster and find your batteries are dead! :cursing

To make it acceptable to us, the gun would have to fire when the batteries are dead - it would "fail safe" to being able to fire.

The exact opposite of how they are currently designed.
