Rules: Current CMP Competition rules apply.
Eligibility: Per rule section 4.0. Competitors must be least 14 years of age.
Entry Fee: $30.00 for adults, $15 for juniors.

Entries: Entries limited to 45 shooters by advance payment - check or money order - mailed to
the above address. Entries will be accepted on first come/first serve basis until all 15
firing points are filled. Competitors must have a CMP competitor number or fill
out the affidavit and return it with the entry. Entries for any unfilled slots will be
accepted during the squading period. No refunds will be granted after the match
commences.

Location: Rio Salado Sportsman’s Club, 3960 N. Usery Pass Road, Mesa. Directions may be

Safety rules: NRA-approved empty indicators (ECIs) are required to be in all rifles except during
firing periods. ECIs can be purchased from the HP Division for $2 each. With no
exceptions, safety glasses and ear protection must be worn by all competitors and
spectators. Glass bottles and alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
Squadding: Squadding will begin at 7:15 a.m. and conclude at 8 a.m.
Classifications: Two - Master (above 94%) and Expert (94% and below). NRA High Power
classifications will be used for the percentages. Those not possessing NRA
classifications will shoot in the master class.

Categories: Two – Adult, Junior (rule 4.6.3).
Divisions: 1. CMP Service Rifle (service rule 6.1.1, 6.1.3 &6.1.4)
Scoring & Pits: Competitors shall perform scoring & pit duties, unless they provide paid pullers.
Ammunition: Competitors must provide their own safe ammo (50 rounds). The match director has

authority to deem ammunition unfit for competition.

Targets: 200-yards NRA SR target. 200-yards SR-42 target. 500-yards NRA MR-65 target.
Challenges: A fee of $3.00 will be collected for each challenge. The match director can assemble a
rules-review committee out of selected entered shooters. The selected shooters must
participate on the committee. The match director presides over the committee but does
not vote on the issues.

Firing Time: Firing will start at 8:30 a.m. unless conditions necessitate a delay.
Course of Fire: Service Rifle National Match 50 shot (service rule 8.13.1). With the exception that
rapid fire times are extended. No sighting shots are permitted (service rule 8.1.3) and
no alibis will be granted. All competitors will start the rapid fire events from the
standing position.
Match 1: 200 yd. Slow-Fire Standing. 10 shots for record in 10 minutes. SR Target.

Match 2: 200 yd. Rapid-Fire Sitting. 1 ten-shot string, rapid fire, sitting or
kneeling, 60 seconds per string. SR Target.

Match 3: 200 yd. Rapid Prone. 1 ten-shot string, rapid fire prone, 70 seconds per
string. SR 42 Target.
Match 4: 500 yd. Slow-Fire Prone. 20 shots for record in 20 minutes. MR65 Target.
Match 5: Aggregate of Matches 1, 2, 3 and 5. Service Rifle Division.
Awards: A State Championship will be awarded for high score and for high Junior. Each of these
champions will receive a personalized plaque. There must be at least 5 shooters in a division and 4 juniors
for a champion to be declared.
Second and third place medals will be awarded in the master class. There must be at least 6 in the master
class for full awards. First and second place medals will be awarded in the expert class. There must be at
least 4 in the expert class for full awards.

First, second and third place medals will be awarded in the junior category. There must be at least 6 in the
junior category for full awards. A junior can win the service rifle championship and the junior
championship and be double awarded. Other than the championship, juniors compete solely against
juniors for awards. A junior may elect to shoot outside the junior category by stating so in the entry form.
If there is insufficient attendance for full awards, the match director will reduce awards and /or combine
classifications as the match director deems appropriate.
