If he does, I don't think that one will make it to the sales floor at his shop. ;)

    Great question....no.  I have never even fired a .303.  Lot's of M1's and AR15's though.... :thumbup

I know value and rare when I see it....plus I love history.  When I saw this one on the auction block I had to have it and knew my customer's and you fine folks would get a kick out of seeing it.

I wonder where it was manufactured?  I have never seen one like this offered for sale.  I hope you film the unwrapping..at least part of it.  Let us know when you offer it for sale. I have quite a few..way too many and love shooting them although .303 is hard to find reasonably priced.  I have seen some utube videos of the unwrapping of these guys and it is pretty interesting.

This one was manufactured under the RAF contract, Royal Ordnance Factory, Fazakerley....outside of Liverpool, UK in 1955.  They did not have an immediate use for them so they were dipped in Cosmoline, wrapped and stored for decades.  Eventually, England and technology moved on and they were sold to importers in the 1990's.  This one comes in the original box from the importer with the tags still on it....and stuffed in the box is newspaper from 1994.

Fazakerley is the same facility that manufactured the famous "Irish Contract" No 4 Mk 2's that everyone raves about.  This is the exact same rifle, just under a different PO.  If I unwrap it, clean it and shoot it.....the value goes way down.

Currently, this rifle is for sale on my website as well as Gunbroker and GunsAmerica.  I might dip into ARMSLIST in the near future.
