Another new shooting range in the East Valley
« on: May 14, 2019, 10:48:36 pm »
It looks like there is a new shooting range being built in the East Valley, this time in Gilbert.

It's called Gun Club 82 and it sounds like it's gonna be the "Top Golf" of shooting ranges.  In addition to the range, gun shop, and gunsmith, there'll also be a restaurant and bar. Not sure if I like this concept or not...

I like how everyone is freaking out about the bar. The rod and gun club in el paso has a bar that you had to walk by to pay to shoot. People would shoot, grab a burger and beer, and then head on home. I hated "hell paso" for the most part but that range was sweet, self policed too and no range nazis. Never had a problem. Best range I've ever shot on.

It'll just be another place that gouges people and where the Mormons can have a snausage measuring contest on who can blow the most money in an hour. I've lived in Gilbert since I was 11, this place sucks now between the 202, mormon infestation, traffic, and the san tan mall. I want my quiet little slice of farmlands with misty mornings and watching the coyotes hunting field mice to feed their pups back. Rant ON [OFF].

I dunno!  I can see exactly how people would be concerned about putting guns and alcohol under the same roof.  I don't think it's a rational fear, if anything my guess is that it's more of a "redneck fear". They don't list a menu per se for the restaurant on the web site but I suspect the food there is going to be hipsterish and pricey. That'll likely be something of a limiting factor. As for the bar I'm guessing that they're gonna install lockers to prevent patrons from carrying firearms and/or range bags into the bar.  Either that or they'll have a valet at the entrance checking everyone's firearms ala 1880's-era Dodge City or Tombstone.

Looks cool its Close to me but the memberships are expensive, The restaurant and Bar is an interesting touch. Will have to check it out. I usually meet friends at the range then we hit a close by establishment after  for a bit so this concept makes sense. All indoor ranges are expensive in my opinion. The squad deal at C2 is the best i have found.  I agree that Gilbert has grown to the point that i don't like it as much as i used too. We are at Chandler Heights and Val Vista and they are starting on 400 homes in an area of predominately acre plus lots and some county island.   Development is inevitable in this valley but it came too fast for me. I am ready to get out of Phoenix Metro For good. Just don't know where to go.  Everything is a compromise.

I'd like to try this place out but they don't have a ton of info on their website. Is it open?

Not yet... they anticipate opening sometime in the 4th quarter of this year.

I wouldn't expect much from this place. This building project has been going on for two years and after speaking with the construction guys, doesn't sound like its going to open anytime soon.

Arizona has passed to open four new public ranges.  I'm glad I live in a state that believe it the 2nd Amendment.

It was in the paper but I can't find it now.  I even tried looking for them at Arizona Game And Fish.

Still not open. What a mess.

"Multiple subcontractors say they are owed a total of nearly $500,000 for their work on Gun Club 82, a shooting range, bar and restaurant venue expected to open this fall in Gilbert.

At least 11 companies have filed liens since April against some combination of Caliber Club LLC, managing director Rod Ghani or general contractor Arizona Wrangler Construction.

The largest lien is from Arizona Glass Specialists, which claimed it was owed $117,900 for work on windows and doors.
