Any recommendations on a good southern Az place to look at Mosins etc?

Murphy's in Tucson usually has a pretty good selection of Milsurps.

Thanks, I always forget about that shop, I'll give them a look.

I may actually end up buying my brothers Mosin M44 though...

I really feel like that’s lacking here.  There used to be West of The Pecos and Murphy’s used to have a bigger surplus selection.  Frontier Armory always has a couple too, but not many.

I know the imports have slowed but I sure miss easy access

    I need a Fat-50.  Not a regular 50, but a FAT one.

Liberty Pawn shop has stuff usually, some of the other pawn shops can as well.  2nd Amendment sometimes has older stuff.

Uh, oh; looks like a visit to 'the candy factory' may be on the itinerary.

    How are their prices?

I second Murphy's. I've bought from them for years, and their prices are always fair.
