« on: December 14, 2019, 12:15:26 pm »
I'm looking for a range bag which will fit three handguns and accompanying ammo.  does anyone here know of a local store where I can find one?  Thank you.

LA police gear has an inexpensive one that is good. I've had mine for about 7ish years, and it's still doing the deed.

Check Dillon's bag.   They make a nice one.  They have sizes Small & Large.   Price is not bad and will last almost forever.

have never had a range bag i could fit everything i wanted to take.  not a fan of ammo in range bag, it gets the gats with mags, usually loaded though, cause what is a handgun without a loaded mag,  trick question ya know :whistle

an average day of shooting for us is upward of 1500 rounds mixed, but usually pistol rounds, although with the new caliber carbines i assembled i tend to go off the rails so to speak as they are such a pleasure to shoot.  anyway, most of my gats are in a individual handgun carriers, and then i fit them into a larger range bag, usually no more than 4 per bag, ammo is in ammo cans in back of van or truck, and of course, target stands, steel, trash can, shovel and rakes sun shades, comfy chairs for the bullshiat sessions, and well then you have a full day planned, of course a cooler full of cool h20 or chioce of juice.

nothing like a long day at the range, shade, ammo, gats, and friends, what else is there. well maybe three fingers of good hooch. later in the day. hehehe
happy sunday, just glad to still be here

I use an old backpack. From the parking area to the covered shooting area in a 50 yard walk so a backpack works good because I also need to carry a target stand & targets and maybe a rifle.

Honestly the midwayusa competition range bag is one of the best you can get, and it's on sale now.

I think in terms of distances; and at Douglas Range, there, the cars can be parked within 5-10 steps of the shooting benches on the 300 Meter Rifle Range.

Rather than thinking, "Well, I can carry more weight the shorter distance", I go the other way, and use smaller bags organized by chambering.

As someone who needs to hit the O2 if I get myself overworked, keeping the carriers smaller makes more sense, and allows me to stage my gear in the vehicle, rather than hauling it all over to the bench, etc. It doesn't all need to be with me. I can only actually use part of it at any time, anyway.

And please forgive my crafty little soul, but a little bit of misdirection usually helps. I sometimes like to use branded tool bags, which may be less likely to draw the wrong sort of attention when seen through a car window. When your car is a window van, there is no lockable trunk.

These also come in other sizes.

When living in the midst of the unseemly, unbranded bags can be more convenient.

I mark them with some cryptic descriptions using heavier Sharpies, I find that the Silver ones work well for me. Customarily, mine will contain just ammo and mags for one chambering each.
