Gunny G USMC
« on: May 22, 2020, 06:06:25 am »
Hey,
Thanks for this forum.

I am from AZ but have been gone for 30 years.
Been in The Corps.
I’m comin home.
Mom lives in Phx. Brother in ShowLow and I’m moving to Gilbert at the end of the month.

I’m a moderator on a NC Gun forum and a member of others.
I’m a combat veteran. Too many damn times over.
I’m not prejudiced. I own GLOCKs and 1911s. Built ARs in all calibers and hunted with them though I don’t hunt much anymore. Have British Enfield 1918, WWII era M-1 Garand and others. Well you get the picture.
My last two are Dan Wesson ECO and New Model Colt Python. Both quality guns. Hi-Points are ugly. But I tell you what. They go boom every time. Gunny likes Boom :D
Their customer service is good too. I wouldn’t admit owning one.
I have a sense of humor.  :-P :facepalm

I have studied Federal Gun Law and I am familiar with the firearms laws in every state.
I know NC like the back of my hand. I need a refresher on AZ firearms laws.
We all know that there is a flood of BS about what is legal and what’s not.
Ignorance abounds.
I am not a know it all. If I was, I’d know nothing.

I’m a staunch defender of the 2nd amendment.
I’m looking forward to interacting with fellow shooters.
So,
That was a windbag full for my piehole so I’ll stop there. :whistle

Semper Fidelis!
Very Respectfully,
Gunny G USMC

Welcome,  Gunny! Thank you for serving your country! Looking forward to your contributions here. I think quite a few of us can appreciate Glocks and 1911s!

As a fellow resident of Gilbert,  glad to see more patriots and shooters moving here.  PM if you need anything immediate or need to get the lay of the land and welcome home!

    Thanks for the warm welcome.
I like wheelguns and bottom feeders alike.
Can’t wait to get home. Most of my firearms and my Safe is already there.
Last time they sewed me back together means I can’t run anymore.
Can’t run, can’t do warrior stuff.

One might review joining the Arizona Citiezens defense league, as they are our own bigger than life gun rights group. they have been extremely successful, in keeping us free so far, the fight is going to begin again, soon.

    Gunny

I don't know when you left AZ, but AZ is much better than it was back 80's.   Just some highlights, included a very important law, is "Constitutional  concealed Carry".  We have always had as long a I can remember open carry, but not concealed.   No permit needed.  But some there is some benefit to taking the test and also have Concealed carry permit.  Since with this you already a have full background check, you go to buy a new gun and and all you do is show your CC permit and no background check required.  Fill out the 4473 and walk out with the gun.  No delays you go home with new gun.

NFA is widely accepted and we have many CLassII dealers i the state, As it was earlier.   Lots of NFA owners, and we have the biggest Machine gun shoot in the world at the Big Sandy machine gun shoot north of Wikieup AZ.

The state has been rated as the freest state by Guns & Ammo mag for the past 3 years.   Hard to achieve that goal.

But again we are under attach by Bloomberg and every other anti-gun org.    Join the AZCDL, there the ones that stand in front of us when they attack.

When you get here buy one of Alan Korwins books, where he documents the rules every year.

    Welcome back.

Glad you could join us.   :thumbup   I second the notion of joining the AZCDL.  Good folks that do a lot of good around here.  As for getting up to speed on Arizona laws you couldn't do better than reading some of Arizona's own Alan Korwin's books and articles.

    Welcome Back.

For anyone looking to better understand the legalities related to gun ownership and use in Arizona I highly recommend "The Arizona Gun Owner's Guide" by Alan Korwin. Very detailed and informative but laid out in plain English.

    Thanks

    AZCDL
    Roger That

I volunteered countless hours with GRNC to get the NC legislature to pass better laws here.
    I have a suppressor.
I know about Constitutional Carry and Late 70s and 80s Open carried.
I have a Concealed Permit NC and it’s the same way for buying.
With my NC Permit and Military ID I just don’t know how to get my AZ one yet but I do want one for travel through non socialist states. Not CA
    I carry always

I know well about the Bloomberg money and other threats to freedom.

Thanks for the info and thanks again for the welcomes.

Gunny when you get your AZ drivers licence, you just need a copy of your DD214 along with finger prints and a check....no class needed for vets for your CCW. Welcome back

Semper Fi, Gunny; from an Old Corps Marine.

Your intro post was the perfect present for my 74th Birthday.

Back then, we didn't do the Ooh Rah.

We did the Bulldog Growl. Imagine that coming out of the dark at you from several dozen Grunts.

I'm down in Cochise County, Pearce; and shoot in Douglas, further down on the Border.

Drop your pack, choose your rack; and welcome Home, Marine.

Not lookin' to be in a gunfight, but if you find yourself mixed up in one, it might be kinda nice to have a gun...

    Thanks Brother.

She’s absolutely beautiful inside and out.
