This is what 18 to 24 year old "boys" were
 doing from 1942 to 1945. (Half of them not even old enough to vote.) No safe spaces, no hurtful unthinkable remarks that they couldn't cope with, just dying for their country so the ungrateful, uninformed snowflakes of today could act like fools decades later.

This all got lost in the 1960's   Caused by Gov't starting a STUPID WARs and creating a Great a hippie drug culture.  You were there I think maybe, but I was there and I seen it happen.      The last really good president was General Dwight D. Eisenhower (IMHO) he was drafted into that position if my memory serves me right.

Times change, so do wars.

My Dad landed in the Falklands to retake it from the Argies with the Paras in 1982.

Both my Grandfathers fought in WW2 1939-1945 (before America decided to show up ) both we’re lucky enough to survive that war.

Both of their fathers fought in WW1 in the most horrific conditions.

I was in Afghanistan 2006-2007.

No matter the generation, you’re always going to get people voluntarily wanting to join the military. Drafts for the world wars were necessary for all countries and the numbers involved were massive. Point is we don’t fight wars like that anymore (hopefully anyway). Million man armies fighting on thousand mile fronts with massed charges.
This frees up more “snowflakes” to do whatever they want with their lives. Not a bad thing. If anything world war scale was to happen again, you’d have lines around the block at recruiting stations, just like after 9/11. Every generation writes off the next. It’s human nature

I tend to agree, but don't forget the infiltration of our education system beginning in the 1950s to present by leftists (aka COMMIES)! Their work has paid off for them 1,000 times over. The druggy, dirty hippies, turned into college & school teachers & admins from that era to present!  They no longer hide in the shadows, now they openly proclaim Socialism to be the way of "our" future, to the point they have their candidates racing to the bottom of the who can out commie the others. Or education system was turned into a weapon against us, doing far easier what any regular foreign invasion force would have ever thought possible, getting us to destroy our own country from within. Hell - over the last month we've had 2 college professors charge with spying for the CCP (Chinese Communist Party).  There's a reason that our kids aren't taught history (at least not a skewed version of it), so it can easily be erased or rewritten by these douche bags once their take over is complete.

I'm not sure that will solve our problems.  The military is already burdened with social experiments, using women, gays, and trans-genders. Remember, the military is run by the same folks who screwed up public education.  Running a majority of youth through the military will only give the liberals a new target for their screwed-up indoctrination practices.

We have to win back our education system and start sending criminal politicians to jail so becoming a politician to get rich and enforce your ideas on others is not such an attractive career.
