I dropped a pin in the fire on the ESRI Map so you can get right to it.

Here's INCIWEB's link to the event.

Here's Flight Radar 24.  I can't pre link you to an area but if you click on the planes in that area you can start to identify the observation planes looping around and then the tankers making runs.

I'm not picking up any radio traffic to monitor the VLAT's and other air craft on yet.  Post up if you can confirm a good frequency.

Flight radar has been around a long time.  Back to at least 2k.   Didn't know they had an app.  For lucky (android & apple) ?.

My Dad was a pioneer of aerial firefighting in the early/mid 1960's. Started with converted TBMs.
Then F7F, B17, C130 (he designed the drop system for those), and DC7.
My half-brother followed in Dads footsteps (wingflaps?) and was a spotter, now a tanker pilot, for the same company.

I've signed up with Flight Radar 24 to get their equipment and put it on the house to listen for aircraft squaking (sending out tail numbers and direction alt speed, etc) in exchange for a free account.  They may  / may not decide I'm eligible if they already have enough coverage in the area..  But when / if they let me participate, I'll let you know how it goes.
