Mausers, Mausers, Mausers!
« on: October 27, 2020, 06:55:21 am »
Hello AzGO members,

I was lucky enough to meet another member from AzGO this last week.

And I was able to trade for three military surplus Mausers!

#1 FN Model 51 (1951 Navy) King Leopold marked 30.06

#2 Czech/Israeli K98k (1945) swp45 marked 7.62 NATO

#3 FN/Israeli Model 30/50 (1948?) Double stamped! 7.62 NATO

Here is a pic!

More coming.

Really nice set of rifles! You can't go wrong with a Mauser! I've had my fair share of Mausers over the years, the K98 would have to be my favorite! :thumbup

That's friggin sweet. Looking good. I ought to take mine shoot it. It's been over a decade at least.
Bullets are the only things that do their job only after they're fired.

I also bought a Yugo arsenaled K98k from a new AzGO member that is missing some parts.

It is a miss-mash of parts and the looks of being dragged all around the world.  :-P

(Yugo receiver with Crest, Czech M98 straight bolt, German stock and hand guard

German barrel with early and late production metal parts)

I had a spare Israeli K98k sling and a Belgian front sight post to put on.

I'll post some pics when I get it complete.  ;-D

After some more research, here are some corrections.

    #1 is a FN Model 50

    #3 is a FN/Israeli Model 30

Beautiful rifle. I really like that stock too, I prefer the darker color wood over lighter colors.

I had two M24 Mausers several years ago. I enjoyed mine and they were great rifles! I also had an M48 but for some reason I never really like it. The K98 is where it's at though, those are amazing rifles!

Those Israeli Mausers are cool. Kind of a “F you” piece in a modern NATO load.

I had a couple and they rang at 300 yards.

My Israeli marked (Czech receiver marked 308) Sight were way off at 100 yards. I had to hold at the bottom of the target frame to get it on paper. The rifle was in mint condition. Perhaps the sights being off was the reason it was so pristine :cursing

Those are beautiful rifles. you dont have to answer, but my first thought was what did someone take in trade for those! I was just at an antique gun show in MI and the all the mausers were $$$

    I traded a mil-surplus 1911 for them. :-P

I'm always trading and changing up my collection.

All mil-surplus weapons are going up, get them while you can.  ;-D

on the 4th or last sunday of most months (but not July) PRGC https://phoenixrodandgun.org/ holds a CMP-style shoot, it is listed on the club calendar as "CMP Games"

its a CMP/NRA/Camp Perry style High Power shoot for military rifles, old milsurp/C&R or modern. Prone & Standing, slow fire & rapid fire. Usually shoot the 35rd course of fire twice so you can shoot 2 rifles that day.

I often shoot Mausers when I shoot it.
