searching for two firearms
« on: March 17, 2021, 01:05:44 am »
I've been on the lookout for a Beretta 92fs Brigadier and a Taurus 617 snubby for months.  No luck so far.  I hear the ammo situation is improving.  Does anyone know if the same is happening or will soon be happening with the firearm supply?

My mother in law has a lot of health issues that require a lot of doctors appointments and labs and tests.
Due to covid, my father in law can't go in with her so they schedule all of her stuff on the same date and place as much as can be.  Then while she spends 4 hours in the doc office, he goes out and hits all of the local gun shops.  She also likes slot machines so when he drops her off at the casino, he does the same.  It's kinda nice because I get weekly intel reports via text as he drives around to all the stores.

FIL has been reporting that guns have been on the shelves for a while now.  Now if you are looking for a specific gun - he was looking for a 357 Lever - it might take a few weeks and a lot of shops but you will find it.  Shotguns and Bolt Guns are plentiful.  Working pistols / service pistols like Glocks and Smiths are plentiful.  ARs/AKs can be found but still north of $1200 for a basement level gun.

I think your Beretta will be an easy find  except for the Brigadier part.  That makes it special so you better let your fingers do the walking and call around.
Taurus might be an easier snag.

Just got an email flyer from SportsMans Warehouse this morning, they have a bunch of new arrivals from Smith & Wesson and Ruger up on their website. Not necessarily on sale but at least in stock and for sale. Based on that I think that things are looking up. I doubt if we'll be seeing any real sale prices for a good while yet.

Have you tried using the search feature on   https://gun.deals/   and    https://www.wikiarms.com/   to get an idea about availability and current prices for the on line dealers?  That is the way I recently found a Mossberg MC2C 9mm with NS.  The "notiify me when in stock" feature offered by many dealers was not helpful.  Googling the specific manufacturer and model number revealed listings not on the above 2 sites, but it is time consuming.

    Best of luck,

One of my recommendations is to try grabagun.com.

Top notch company, I've done ammo orders and multiple gun buys through them. Shipping is cheap. Just pay transfer fee at your dealer. Still end up usually paying less or close to local prices (at worst.)

    Hope this helps.

I have a Beretta 92X with trigger and sight upgrades I'd let go.
Send me an email if interested.

Before 3/2020 I used to use Davidsons Gun Genie site. If they had it,  it would ship from Prescott to your FFL. I'd usually send it to Saba's in Chandler because they are nice,  fast and efficient,  and let you go out the back door to the parking lot.

Good luck on your hunt,  OP!
