Nikon BuckMasters 4.5 - 14 x 40mm Side Focus
« on: March 18, 2021, 07:08:37 am »
I’ve had one of these in a drawer for about 7 years, never used it. I want to put a scope on my disc extreme. This scope weighs 17.7 ounces and has 3.7-3.8 inches of eye relief, it’s 14.37 inches long. The best scope I’ve ever had is a Leupold vx1 3-9. It’s been on my rifle for 25 years. It’s 12.6 inches long, weighs 11.2 ounces and has 3.7-4.2 inches of eye relief. I put my money for optics into my 10x42 Zeiss Conquest HD binoculars. Seems like a no brainer, what am I missing here?

Nikons were good scopes for the money, but Nikon has officially been out of the scope business for at least a year now.

Warrantee will be problematic going forward.  But since you already have it, you would be good to go until it gives up the ghost.

I agree in avoiding Nikon.  My friend used to be a big Nikon fan until he had to have warranty work done on his scope.  Nikon didn't even bother trying to fix his scope and they offered him a credit voucher that didn't even cover the cost of his scope.

I was thinking about buying a refurbish Nikon, but I didn't want to deal with Nikon if anything happened to that optic.  I feel that you are just throwing money away with Nikon.  There are a lof of good optic makers out there, so choose wisely.
