New User Introduction and Quick Shooting Tip
« on: November 07, 2021, 06:39:42 pm »
Hey everyone, this is my first post and wanted to introduce myself. My name is Thomas and I am a new firearms instructor here in Phoenix. I spent five years in the Marine Corps infantry where I was able to train Marines in various things that included shooting. I want to be able to continue this by training anyone who seeks it. I do a lot of simulator training and complement it with live fire training as well.

Quick Tip:
One thing I have learned from the military and my time spent as an instructor after is trigger reset. What do I mean by that? Instead of trying to figure the travel distance after the shot has been fired (pinning the trigger), the goal should be to have the trigger prepped and ready in the time it takes the slide to eject the spent casing and go back into battery. This isn’t to make you shoot faster even though it is a byproduct, the objective here is to shoot more efficiently.

People usually react better if you become an active member of the forum and contribute to threads rather than just try to throw out a free advertisement for your business. I have a job too, but you don't see me trying to drum up business on this forum.
I consider owning and shooting guns to be a fun hobby. That could also save my life or the lives of others.

I had no idea trigger reset was a thing. Is that why I keep shooting other people's targets by accident?

Post a video of you shooting some drills.

Maybe Eleanor from sage dynamics. Tier 1? Trex

That’s a great way to see how competent someone is.

And how many others do you see offended around here?  Yep, ZERO.  He introduced himself and gave some free training advice, BFD.  Relax Francis.

Listen Karen, I didn't say people were offended. I offered advice. Good advice too. And it was "FREE."

No, you offered an opinion.  Free or not, it was a lousy one.  Besides, "Karen" was the best you could do?  Really?  Someone with a post count like yours I thought could come up with something better.  Keep at it, the world needs more life-long hall monitors like yourself.
