Doccumentation Refresh Time
« on: December 19, 2021, 10:30:43 am »
I keep a plastic folder in the truck in the seat pocket behind the passenger.  It's easy to access from the drivers seat and lets be honest, those pockets aren't good for much else.  They hold no weight.  They hold no bulk.  They are too deep to slip a pistol into and be able to get your hands on it in an emergency.  So aside from, i don't know - drumsticks maybe - they aren't good for much.

In this folder I keep:
A copy of my car insurance
Registration
State Trust Land Permit (had to renew today hence the exercise)
Ballistics Drop Card for calibers I routinely carry into the back country
Topo Maps of areas I frequent
Amateur Radio License
Radio manuals
Repeater Listing
Other documents like the AzDFFM Wildland Fire Radio Comms Guide and public service frequencies

I think it's a good idea to keep with when out in the back country.  Worse case it makes good toilet paper and fire starter.  ;-)
The only thing that separates man from animal is our affinity for toilet paper.
Once we, as a society, lose that affinity, we begin to descend back into the animal kingdom, and after three or more days you will find the food chain beginning to invert on itself.

I try to avoid putting anything in them that can't withstand getting slammed around and kicked repeatedly by kids and dogs.  Or, completely forgotten when you trade vehicles and passed on to the new owner(s).   :facepalm
