Ok this is something I've been asking for - an M1 Carbine in an easy to find - at least used to be, easy to find caliber in the same lightweight handy package. I'm not sure of the final quality as I haven't seen one yet, but the idea has merit.

If I were looking for a lightweight, handy, 9mm carbine I think I'd forgo having one that looks like an M1 carbine in favor of something that uses more readily available mags.

It's a shame the Ruger PC9, and Marlin Camp Carbines were discontinued because they'd really fit the bill. Still you could get a Beretta CX4, MecTec conversion, or Keltec Sub2K and be pretty close.

Never shot this rifle, or even heard of it, but I think there are better alternatives. The Kel-tec sub 2000 is an awesome value for the price, plus it would make a great camping gun. The other question is if they just introduced this gun what were they thinking???

9mm is harder to get than anything except .22LR for me. And with that 9mm is not really that cheap anymore compared to other calibers.

It probably spent at least a year in development before being released.

So much to say about this. First off, no fault of their own that their release date is during the great ammo drought. It is easier to find guns and mags than ammo right now.

Second, the mags for M1 Carbines are as available as anything else, but they are going to have to use a different mag, as 30 Carbine mags are much too long for 9mm.

Don't know about the others Jesse listed, but KelTecs are as hard to find (for a reasonable price) as an honest politician. You would be better off with a 9mm upper for your AR.

I'd like a threaded barrel for my M1 Carbine so I could mount a suppressor. Hmm, you would have to regulate the gas or hand load....

I kind of hate you right now... I had never thought of a suppressed M1 Carbine before now...

It's too bad making an M1 carbine barrel with a 1-7 twist would be so tricky (with the integral gas block I wouldn't want to attempt it) - you'd probably be able to load up some really nice 180-200 gr subsonic loads.
